There are a number of key dates to look out for in October in relation to Employer deadlines and Self Assessment.
Take a look and make sure you don’t get caught out by being late with payments and filing deadlines to avoid penalties, fines and interest charges.
1 October 2016
- Corporation Tax due for company accounts year ended 31 December 2015
5 October 2016
- Deadline for notifying HMRC of new sources of taxable income or gains or liability to the High Income Child Benefit Charge for 2015/2016 if no tax return has been issued.
7 October 2016
- Vat Return online submissions and VAT payable for VAT periods ending 31 August 2016
19 October 2016
- PAYE, NIC and Student loan deductions due for the month ended 5 October 2016
- Filing deadline for CIS300 monthly return for the month ended 5 October 2016
- CIS Tax deducted for the month 5 October 2016 is payable by this date
- PAYE quarterly payments are due for small employers for the pay periods 6th July to 5 October 2016
- Tax and NI due under a 2015/16 PAYE Settlement Agreement
31 October 2016
- Deadline for submitting ‘paper’ 2015/2016 self assessment returns
- Deadline for submission of 2015/16 self assessment returns if you require HMRC to compute your tax liability and/or if tax underpaid is to be collected by adjustment to your 2017/18 PAYE code
- Deadline for submitting Limited Company accounts to Companies House year ended 31st January 2016
