VAT Amnesty Starts

HMRC officially launch their VAT amnesty this week targetted at businesses which should be VAT registered – but aren’t.

Most offenders will pay a penalty of 10% in addition to the tax owed.  After 30 September the penalties will be much more severe and, in some cases, could result in criminal prosecutions.
