New companies being duped

We’ve had reports of a company sending out letters which appear to look official – the crest used on the letter is very similar to that of Companies House. The letter apparently demands a payment of £37.50 to be entered onto  the New Company Register.

Whilst it’s perfectly legal to write to businesses asking them to pay a fee to be in a directory there’s a concern that people may be being misled that this is a requirement.

If you receive such a letter and are unsure what to do then just let us know and we’ll tell you if it’s genuine or not.
