Giving A Goat – March 2016 Edition

Give a GoatWelcome to our first quarterly update on our client-driven charitable giving.

We have identified two client actions that will trigger us making a donation through Buy 1 Give 1, a micro-giving non-profit organisation active in over 70 countries around the world.  Here’s how you’ve done in the last 6 months…

Refer a friend or colleague

We love receiving new referrals from our clients!  Without fail, all of those referrals love the idea of our “Give A Goat” program which means that for each referral we give a goat to a Kenyan family.

Our donation makes a huge difference to the family by sponsoring the goat and providing the breeding infrastructure.  While the breeding program is under way, a small amount of income can be generated through the sale of anti-HIV goats milk and goats meat.  In the long term, the production of other products such as soap, cheese and yoghurt will create additional income as well.

If we can send enough goats over then maybe one day we’ll see Kenyan feta in our supermarket aisles!

In the past 6 months we received 22 referrals – so that’s 22 goats!

In the next three months we are aiming for 15 referrals so get referring!

Provision of self assessment information by 31 August

Not only do you get your tax return off your to-do list, avoid penalties and have longer to plan for your tax liabilities but by sending us your information before August has ended means we donate a malaria treatment for a child.

Our donation covers the costs needed for a full malaria treatment.  It is essential that malaria is diagnosed and treated immediately.  The disease can be cured if treated quickly but fatal if ignored.  The cost of treatments can be unimaginable for poor and marginalised communities.

We would like to see 31 August etched into all of our self assessment clients’ diaries and become as important a deadline as 31 January.

Exactly 100 clients provided their 2014/15 information to us on or before 31 August

For the 2015/16 tax year we are aiming to get 200 tax returns in by the end of August 2016.

Join us in three months to see if you’re on target!
